We have introduced a Total Triage system to improve the way patients access the practice online, improve how we deal with rising demand and minimise the number of people coming into practice.

If you require medical advice please complete an online form outlining your medical need and a GP will review your request for medical advice and deal with it in the most appropriate way in line with medical urgency. This may be via phone, video call or online response. If you do need a face to face appointment then the GP will arrange this for you.

The online form can be found here or you can complete it via the NHS app. If you cannot use online access don't worry, our reception team will complete this form with you.

For non-urgent issues, please follow the guidelines below and choose the right service, which can help you without any appointment. This will help us being more efficient and making an appointment available to you when you need it the most.

Your pharmacy can advise you on minor illness without the need of an appointment. Please speak to a pharmacist first.

The 35 conditions which can be treated at home with advice from the pharmacist include:

Pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals who can offer clinical advice, over the counter medicines and their use, to effectively and safely manage a range of minor health concerns. They can also help you to decide whether you'll need to see a doctor. You don't need an appointment and you won't even be asked to make a purchase. Every pharmacy also has a private consultation area for you to talk about your symptoms in private if you prefer.

Online Consultation

Complete an online consultation to request routine clinical advice or treatment, or for non clinical admin requests such as fit notes, GP letters and forms etc. Register an account with PATCHS and submit your request in just a few steps

Call the Practice

If you cannot complete an online consultation form our reception team will complete a form for you. Please call the practice and they will take details of your request and pass it to a doctor for triaging alongside the online eConsult requests. We triage all requests by the end of the next working day in order to deal with matters in order of medical priority.

All the services mentioned above are available to help you when you encounter a condition which is non-urgent. Save the call to the surgery and make the best use of pharmacy and online consultations.

If you still need to reach the practice, please call during office hours.

Why does the receptionist need to ask what’s wrong with me?

Our reception staff are important members of the practice team and it has been agreed they should ask patients ‘why the need to be seen’.

We have trained our reception staff to ask certain questions to help make sure you receive the most appropriate medical care from the most appropriate health professional at the most appropriate time.
